Languedoc

about languedoc

The Languedoc is a well guarded secret by the French, but a delight for Destination Cooking. The locals are keeping quiet about the sandy, generous beaches, the charismatic medieval towns, the vast fields of fragrant lilac lavender and the fiery wild white horses of the Camargue.

Yet the Mediterranean region is home to some of France's greatest fruit and vegetable growing, with peppers, artichokes and aubergines popular and sun-ripened to perfection. Plump grapes ripen well on the vine, which is why Languedoc is one of France’s most significant wine making regions.

On these pages you can book your place on a local cooking course, find our favourite recipes, plan a visit to the best markets in the area, find out about the specialities of the region, and book your accommodation with siblu.
