useful holiday information

Now that you've booked your family holiday with us you can really start to enjoy thinking about what you're going to be doing while you're away.  There are a few things, however, that you will need to do before you go to make sure that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible.  We hope these reminders help.

self-drive or fly-drive? If you are going to drive to your holiday destination and have not already booked a ferry, you can still book, and make a saving, through us by calling our sales support team on 0871 911 8888.

If you are planning on a fly-drive holiday, check the list of nearest airports to our parcs.

If you need to hire a car, we recommend using holiday autos.

siblu holiday hint
Many of the low cost airlines have their own partner car rental companies, but this means that when you get off your plane, everybody is queueing at the same car rental point and your holiday can be delayed by over an hour!

passports
Each person (including children and babies) in your party must hold an up-to-date passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of your holiday. There is now only one type of British passport, the standard 10-year passport (5-year passport for babies and children) Application forms are available from main post offices, from Passport Offices, and some high street travel agents. Allow at least 14 working days for your application to be processed, but this can be considerably longer during high season. Carry your passport at all times as proof of identity.

European Health Insurance card The traditional E111 form has been replaced by the new European Health Insurance card, or EHIC. Forms are still available from the Post Office and will entitle you to basic medical treatment abroad, but will take longer to process, so it is best to get this sorted out as soon as possible.
