Ferry ports close to our campsites in France

Given how close the UK and France are – and how close many Siblu holiday parks are to France’s ports – the ferry can be a great way to start your holiday. Many have supervised play areas, cinemas and children’s entertainers. Grown-ups can enjoy the shops, bars and restaurants. Also, all our holiday parks offer ‘any day’ arrival and departure in June and some offer day-to-day arrival throughout the entire season – which means you can get great-value mid-week ferries.
Leaving from England, the Dover to Calais route is the quickest, taking just an hour and a half. Or, if you’re visiting Normandy, you could head for the ports of Cherbourg or Caen. Leaving from Portsmouth, the Cherbourg route is serviced by smaller, faster ferries and takes about three hours. The ferry to Caen takes a more leisurely six hours but takes you closer to the middle of France.
There’s also an overnight service from Portsmouth to St Malo, which is the better option for those visiting Brittany or heading further down the coast.
If you’re departing from Plymouth, you can take a six-hour journey by day or an overnight to Roscoff, the most westerly of the main northern French ports.

Getting to our campsites in Normandy

Based in Normandy, our holiday village Domaine de Litteau is the closest to the UK and is only 35 miles from the port of Caen. In just over four hours, you could be relaxing in one of its pools.

Getting to our campsites in Southern Brittany

Further west is the province of Brittany and the Loire Atlantique, where you’ll find two of our holiday parks close to beautiful beaches. Domaine de Kerlann is 80 miles from Roscoff and features lots of sea-based activities such as sailing and sea fishing. Les Pierres Couchées is 127 miles from St Malo and has cycle trails and horse riding.

Getting to our campsites in Vendée

In Vendée, you’ll find our two sister villages of Le Bois Dormant and Le Bois Masson. Both are 160 miles from St Malo, and close to each other. Le Bois Dormant (‘The Sleeping Forest’) is the more relaxed, but with access to the water games and evening shows of Le Bois Masson, you have the best of both worlds – loads of fun with somewhere to retreat to! Both camping sites are near to interesting places such as Île d'Yeu, an island with a 14th-century castle built to defend against English pirates…

Getting to our campsites in Charente Maritime

Further down the coast you’ll find Charente Maritime, a region famed for its food and drink. After driving 250 miles down from St Malo, you can relax in one of three camping sites: Les Charmettes, Bonne Anse Plage and La Pignade – all just a few miles from coastal towns.
